What is energy?
This has an interactive image of a wind-up toy monkey – the movement energy (‘kinetic energy’) from the hand turns the key. The ‘elastic’ or ‘potential’ energy is stored in the spring inside the toy and as the spring unwinds this changes into kinetic energy and sound energy as the monkey bangs a drum. Some energy is also changed into heat energy.
