Help! We need new energy superheroes – new sources of energy that don’t harm the planet and won’t run out. Wind, sun and water to the rescue!
The old heroes
Most of our energy comes from GAS, COAL and OIL. These FOSSIL FUELS are buried deep under land and the sea, which is why mining or drilling for them is expensive and difficult.
The problem
Getting our hands on fossil fuels isn’t the biggest challenge – it’s making them last! The fossil fuels we use today took millions of years to form. One day they will run out – especially if we keep using so much more than we need. Sources of energy that CAN run out are called NON-RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES.
