What to wear?
In this activity you are the leader of an energy expedition and it is your task to choose the team’s clothing for two very different climates – desert and arctic.
For the girl in the desert, you can choose from:
- Headgear: none, fur hat, top hat, baseball cap, cap with neck cover at back
- Top: cotton t-shirt, padded and hooded jacket, suit jacket, skimpy t-shirt, long-sleeved cotton shirt
- Bottom: short skirt and trainers, padded trousers and fur-lined boots, suit trousers and shoes, shorts and trainers, baggy cotton trousers and sandals
The best outfit for the desert is loose clothing made of cotton – a material with an open weave that will help to keep the body temperature down. The warm air that has been heated by the body can escape. The explorers will keep cool and be protected from the Sun's harsh rays.
For the boy in the arctic, you can choose from:
- Headgear: none, fur hat, top hat, baseball cap, cap with neck cover at back
- Top: long-sleeved t-shirt, cotton t-shirt, padded and hooded jacket, suit jacket, long-sleeved cotton shirt
- Bottom: cotton trousers and shoes, padded trousers and fur-lined boots, suit trousers and shoes, shorts and trainers, baggy cotton trousers and sandals
The best outfit for the arctic has good insulating materials, to protect against the cold and wind, and layers of clothing – the warm air will get trapped inside and keep the body heat in.
