Fact-finding mission 1:

Which energy resources will get used up?

Some sources of energy are not renewable. Once we have used them all up, it won't be easy to get more of them.

Question 1
Find four energy sources that are not renewable.

Question 2
Why aren't fossil fuels a renewable source of energy?

Question 3
Find a table that gives some numbers for how long we can go on using coal, oil and gas. If you look very carefully below the table, you will find out how long the nuclear fuel uranium will last. (Hint: about the same as gas.)

We are going to have trouble making enough electricity if we depend on oil, but what else will we lose if we run out of oil?

Some energy resources are renewable. They are replaced all the time and do not get used up. One of these is solar energy.
